i think so, i know what i should do, i know what id like to do, and i know what is the safe thing to do. the question is, do i go with the easy path, as always, or do i take a chance? id love to throw myself out there and finaly take that chance, but im always held back by a desire to take the safe path.

As a Responsible Adult (and a Long Term single Parent of two disabled children) -- yes there were plenty of things I gave up to take care of them and be RESPONSIBLE ... meaning I was the ONLY income for them and me (the ex was a deadbeat too).

Now .. finally, after many, many years of hard work and raising the children (and being the SOLE caregiver and income for the family) .. I am FINALLY an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree.

So after all this time, I can finally enjoy life a bit .. because ... well ... I've EARNED this privilege!

In some ways yes in other ways no.

I am living the family life I wanted. I accept that it means not being able to travel and other compromises. I am living as well as I can but thanks for making me think about it.
