Translation is the one that doesn't belong. Amino acid, polypeptide and protein all have to do with proteins and their subunits. Translation is the process of reading mRNA and turning it into a protein, but not the actualy protein itself.

Amino acids are the monomers or building blocks of proteins. A polypeptide is a chain of amino acids. It's like a train.....amino acids are the cars that make up the whole train (which is the polymer or protein).
According to , translation is the process of forming a protein molecule at a ribosomal site of protein synthesis from information contained in messenger RNA.
Although they ALL are closely related, amino acid, polypeptide, and protein seem to be the three things that would fit best together.

In biochemistry, this shorter and more general term is frequently used to refer to alpha amino acids: those amino acids in which the amino and carboxylate functionalities are attached to the same carbon, the so-called α–carbon. A protein is one or more polypeptides more than about 50 amino acids long. Proteins are large organic compounds made of amino acids arranged in a linear chain and joined together between the carboxyl atom of one amino acid and the amine nitrogen of another. This bond is called a peptide bond. The sequence of amino acids in a protein is defined by a gene and encoded in the genetic code. Although this genetic code specifies 20 "standard" amino acids, the residues in a protein are often chemically altered in post-translational modification: either before the protein can function in the cell, or as part of control mechanisms. Proteins can also work together to achieve a particular function, and they often associate to form stable complexes.
