NO! It is her body, not yours.Just because you are her parent doesn't give you the right to punch holes in her body.Yes,she is your baby& no she may not like some of the clothes you will put on her,but we're not talking about pretty little bows and dresses. It isn't painful to put a bow in your hair.Oh the thought of being a helpless little baby & someone stabbing a needle thru her ears, she's screaming in pain,& the parent(s) sit their smiling and happy of their beautiful baby girl.Come on get serious who's it for her or you?

That's a good question and you will be getting lots of different answers as many people have different opinions about piercing babies ears. Some say you should not have it done at all and wait till they are old enough to ask for it to be done. Then there are people that say it is best to do it the younger they are.We pierced my daughters ears for her first birthday and she bearly cried and has not messed with her earrings at all.My cousin had her 2 daughters ears pierced by the time they were 6 weeks old.A friend had her daughters ears done at 3 months and another friend had her daughters ears done at 9 months and her daughter no longer has her ears pierced cause she would pull them out.My ex sister in law had her youngest daughters ears done when she was only 2 days old.I would wait till your child has had their first shots and if you still have questions or whatever talk to your docter and see what he says.

It's a personal decision. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting her ears pierce when she is a baby, most girls want their ears pierced anyway. If it was a boy, I would say it's wrong, but with a girl, I'd say do it if you want to. I had my 11 year old and 9 year old daughters ears pierced when they were about 2 months old and they are just fine.

I know a girl that had her newborns ears peirced. Seriously her kid was only about 2 weeks old.
I wouldn't do it though. Sure its cute and all...but what if the kid grows up and doesn't like them. She becomes some kind of oddball who thinks piericng are stupid and tacky. She can take them out but will always have those little holes there that just look weird.
Plus think about the pain. What if it gets infected? Or if she is allergic to the medals? She wont be able to tell you if it burns or anything.
Wait until she's older and says "hey mom i want them pierced" don't force it on her now because you think its cute.

A baby starts building it's own immune system around 4 months. Before 4 months they pretty much have no immunity (anti-bodies against bugs) unless they are breast feeding. Breast fed babies carry/have the mom's anti-bodies, this is one of the reason breastfeeding is so beneficial. So I think it's safe to pierce at 5 months. Hopefully you are breastfeeding....and make sure, make sure, make sure, whom ever is doing the piercing that they have some experience, can perform

We did it when our daughter was 5 months old, and it was fine. We felt it was better to do it when they are younger so they don't mess with them as much and they can heal faster. I was glad that we did it then and didn't wait. Just be sure to get earrings with the special backs for children as she gets older because our daughter is 4 now and they fall out all the time. We have been through several pair, but I am so glad they are pierced. They are so cute!

i use to work at a jewelery store and pierced ears, it is harder for someone to pierce them now, i would have recommened it being done when she was a few weeks old. but do what you want. good luck! also one thing to think of, sometimes babies earlobes arent fully developed (think about it, they will grow as they get older), they may not be even or in the right spot when she gets older. i have seen that happen alot.

trust me, i have asked this question before and got ridiculed.....the bottom line is...SHE IS YOUR BABY....you are the parent until she is 18...im sure shes not going to like some of the "cute little outfits" and 'adorable little bows" you want to put on her, but she really cant say anything can she....are we supposed to let her walk around naked until she is old enough to decide what she wants to wear????
if you want to do it, go ahead, if she doesnt like it when she gets older, she can always take them out....your not stretching her ears, so she wont have huge gaping holes!!!! people act like you are branding your child or getting her a tattoo for petes sake!!!!!
so you better not cut the unbilical cord (cause that could get infected) and anyone that has a boy better not circumsize them (even though that too is the choice of the parent!!!) give me a break!!!

My mom said that I got mine pierced at 6 weeks old...I do not remember any pain...if there was any...But, I am now 21..and hardly ever wear ear rings....you should wait until she is old enough to ask you to take her to get them done...
