The average age is around one year old, plus or minus a month.

Some babies walk as early as nine months. Some don't walk until a couple of months past a year.

The above link is very informative about concerns about babies who walk too early.

Well i have a two year old. He didn't start walking until he was 13 months. I'm pretty sure they up until a year and half until it's consider abnormal. I worried about it because my friends son had started walking around 10 months. But no worries.

The usual is about 1 year old that's when they have leg control. My doc told me it's 3 months for head control, 6 months for trunk control (that's when they learn to sit), 9 months for hip control (crawling starts) and 12 months for walking and balancing. But having said that, I know a neighbour's kid who walked at 7 months using a walker!
