I am trying to fall pegnant, is it good enough to just go by vaginal mucus or should I get one of those ovulation predicters from the chemist. I seem to have the mucus a week to ten days after my period for about 4 or 5 days, and that is when I try to have sex...usually at the first sign of it. Has anyone else just used this method?

Okay, here goes. If you have a regular 28 day cycle, it is suggested that you ovulate on or right around the 14th day after the first day of your period. If you say a week to 10 days after your period, than that sounds pretty accurate. I don't think you should base it just on the mucus since you can sometimes have more mucus because you might have a yeast infection an don't know it. (these are VERY normal) I would suggest you use a calendar and jot down the first day of your period, and the count 14 days later. I would also say that on the 11-17 day I would try and stay as sexually active as possible, keep in mind though that sperm does "live" for 3-5 days, so luckily, (although I'm sure your man wouldn't mind), you don't have to dedicate your time to only sex! The ovulation kits are pretty costly, so try natural methods first. Also, you can try taking your temp. Right before you ovulate, your body temp. increases. But with this method you would have to test your temp. for a few days to know what your normal temp is and test it when you thinking you will ovulate to see how high it becomes (it won't be fever high). Lastly, this one I'm not too sure about, but it's worth trying. I've also heard that once he ejaculates, keep it inside of you for a bit. If your like me, you run straight to the bathroom to wash up! Well, wait a bit instead. Maybe 2-3 minutes. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!!

I am currently only checking my CM, though I do have some ov predictor sticks which my friend gave me as she no longer needs them (she just had a baby!) so do randomly test when I see that EWCM starting.
I have only been charting for a couple months (almost through my third month) and have my fingers crossed this might be the month!!
The CM is pretty accurate, but can sometimes throw you off by skipping some or seeming to go backwards, etc...and if you're not "dry" after ovulation, sites like fertilityfriend.com seem to think you're still fertile...but who is honestly completely dry down there if you're not in menopause? I'm not! It is a bit confusing sometimes, but I know a few people who have acheived pregnancy this way...it does seem best to add your BBT to it as well, though...you can pinpoint your ovulation better with this. (that is how the friend who gave me the ov sticks got her BFP!)
Good luck.

Mucus method is good but ovulation predictors give you the exact time. You can expect ovulation 12 to 36 hours after the detection of LH surge. You can try one from ebay.in, its good.

your body creates extra muscus discharge at the same time as your pregnant. see you later because that's sparkling, your ok. If it receives colour or smell, you've were given an infection and then call your known practitioner. yet sparkling discharge is prevalent. some female positioned on pads at the same time as pregnant, because they have a consistent discharge.
