I had this discussion with my 18 year old brother in law 10 years ago.
Who in this world is ashamed of their color? Nobody.
So White, Black, ad Hispanic Pride stickers or shirts are stupid. It states the obvious. All three are meant to be offensive to the other.

Well, because the other "races" that have pride in their heritage do not do it strictly on the basis of race, but on heritage: culture, not skin color. You are remembering African-American and Asian-American; why did you not say European-American instead of "white"? Or more realistically, why not Italian-American or German-American or like that?
I grant you there is a sensitivity about Anglo, European, white, whatever sort of ethnicity being the bad guys and everyone else being the good guys. It's not unlike what we went through in the 70s and 80s about men being the villains and women being the angels. The excuse that's usually given is something about making up to you for what your great-great-grandparents missed, or vice versa. It's all BS anyway, and we all know it.
What we really need here is respect for individuals, complete with their skin, their photos of their grandparents, their favorite music, their manner of speaking, and all of it. They draw their individuality from their heritage and their environment and their own fertile imaginations, and come out unique.

Well white isn't a race. Be proud of your actual race. Like Irish pride, or Hungarian pride, you know? I know it's hard for American "white" people because we're so mixed but I think that just gives you more culture to celebrate. I don't think any school would think an Irish or Slavik club was racist as long as the member's actions weren't.

The difference between what you are advocating and the other clubs is that they do not specify a skin colour. There are people living in South America who descended from English stock and technically Australians would be more eligible for the Asian American club than an all American club. There is already an all white club called the K.K.K.

it is obvious that the reason "white pride" would be considered racist is becuase the white people were the ones that came and took the land away from the indians and enslaved the blacks.
And I know exactly what you mean by the whole pride thing, I myself don't give a **** who has pride or whatever, I never say I have hispanic pride lol and if someone says that they have white, or black, or yellow, or red or whatever the hell pride they want then let them have it, it is just society that labels every thing in a stereotypical way. If you go and say you have white pride and someone tells you something then just tell them that you are proud to be white, simple as that. But never tell them exactly why though lol

I think because there are too many bad stereotypes of white clubs like KKK. .. but really I don't see any reason for it. However if there was one, someone would probably try to sue for discrimaton or something. We had one in HS called the Italian American Club and the Irish American Club. So it you pick an actual heritage, then people seem to be more tolerant.

This is a really good question. My minor is in Chicano Studies, I am very proud of who I am, where my people have come from and the struggles they endured, but your right when you say white pride images of Nazi's and skinheads come to mind. I don't know. This has me thinking, I like to be made to think. What is it about being white that you are proud of, if you say that its because whites are in control and that whites are superior than I guess it is racist, if you believe that being white is a great thing because of accomplishments that were positive contributions than I guess its not. I'm still going to think on this for a while.

Most of the things in America in terms of entertainment, education, the arts ,and so many other areas are geared toward whites. Personally I couldn't care less about you having "white pride." I mean everyone should be proud of who they are. Just understand the implications of saying you have "white pride". That has a negative/racist connotation because of whites' history of doing many cruel things to people of other cultures. The actions of your ancestors are the reason why minority groups are underrepresented in this country and have to create their own organizations. For instance BET (black entertainment television) was created because NBC, ABC, CBS, and so many other mainstream stations cater to white audiences and fail to include many people of color in their programs. So, I'm sorry that I don't sympathize with you. Clubs catering to certain ethnicities shouldn't have to exist-and neither should organizations which aim to do the same. However, they do as a result of history and I for one am glad that I founded the Black Student Union at my school because more often than not the ASB caters to the white students. So perhaps we should work on decreasing the need for ethnic organizations by promoting UNITY. However, until there's a collective effort to do that-minorities will continue to support their own. That's what's necessary for the betterment of our people...

Narrow it down a bit and you'll find your niche. I was the head of the Irish Heritage Club in my high school. Of course we all got suspended that one time when our club and the English Society Club got into a big fight. That's the real problem with celebrating ones national heritage is that all groups have rivals.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

You already have enough white pride! That's the reason hispanic and African-American clubs had to be started in the first place. They must not have been getting treated fairly by people who like you who are "just proud of your heritage" so they had to start their own.
