Give yourself a break. A huge percentage of early first trimester miscarriages are due to severe genetic defects.

It wasn't that cigarette or glass of wine you had before you knew you were pregnant.

When the products of these early pregnancies are examined, in most cases, they contain genetic material that is incompatible with life. I don't mean the kid would have had 2 heads or anything like that, but the newly-formed embryo was incapable of further cell division.

Think of it as God's way of saying, "This one didn't cook right." It doesn't necessarily mean that future pregnancies will be similarly affected.

I'm sorry about about your lost. I too miscarried about 5 years ago. The truth is that it is not your fault. I read that often times miscarriages are the body's natural way of not allowing a baby to progress any further due to conditions that may be over exhausting to a baby and thus might make there life shorter and very difficult anyway. I know that there is nothing that anyone can say to help you move on, only time can heal you, and you will never heal completely. If you are a believer in God, than you will trust that he did this for the better of yours and your babys life. Again, it is not your fault! Just relax, take it one day at a time, and wait a bit before you try to conveive so that you feel less pressure on yourself. I just found out I'm pregnant and I feel so much pressure (even after 5 years) I keep thinking the worse, I'm terrified. The truth of the matter is that only God can decide whether or not I will carry a regular pregnancy, theres nothing I can do but pray. The same goes for you. Just continue to take good care of yourself and soon, you will be a mommy! My heart goes out to you and I wish you the best of luck. Seek Gods healing power and soon, you will feel better.

This is the way it was explained to me.
Usually when you miscarry, it's because the fetus was not developing correctly. I had 5 misscarriages b4 I got lucky. I now have 3 beautiful babies.
I know it's hard to understand, and you have every right to be sad, but think about the possibility if you would have carried full term there could have been something seriously wrong with the baby. That's how I dealt with it.

It likely wasn't anything you did or didn't do. When miscarriages occur, most are because of abnormalities with the fetus. I know it's hard to get through. Mourn this one, just keep in mind how hard life would have been on the baby if it was born with something seriously wrong. Stay on your prenatals, and off the cigarettes, and look to the future. Things happen when they are meant to, miraculous things especially when we aren't looking for them.

Sometimes, miscarriages just happen. I know that is hard to accept but there was nothing you did to cause it. Miscarriages often happen because something was wrong with the baby and it was natures way of ending a pregnancy that wouldn't have produced a healthy baby.

I know this is hard and you have every right to be hurt and sad over this. But please try and remember that you did not cause your miscarriage.

Angela hon you didnt do anything. Sometimes something just isnt right with a fetus and it cant survive, Many many women have miscarriages and go on and have children with no problem. Dont sit around and blame your self. Relax, get well and try again.

I'm not sure your obgyn would recommend smoking all through your pregnancy.... If you have already quit, stay off them and try to get pregnant without them. Miscarriages happen for SO many reasons ( stress, dehydration, hormones, genetic stuff) Its really hard to say what happened. It's most likely not anything you did, so don't think it was your fault. Just try again and think positive. (and see your Dr.) Good luck and I'm sorry.
