It is a long long list. How do I get rid of it? Would there be anything in it necessary for the function of the computer I should keep?

Most of the time the files that are in the Recycle Bin are files you've selected to delete so they are usually sake to delete. It nevers hurts to double check though just to make sure. There are two or three options. Empty the Recycle Bin, Restore all items, and if you select a file, Restore this item. If there is more than one file you want to restore then while holding the Ctrl key you can click each file and restore more than one if you need to.

If you have a whole bunch of files in the Recycle bin, it would be a good idea to go thru that list and check to see what they are. If you dont remember deleting a file, then restore it. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

when you click on Recycle Bin, and it comes up, then click on "File". Gives you an option to delete.

Not necessary, but most people keep it cleaned out. Your choice.

If your puter is still working, I guess not. Just use the 'empty recycle bin' feature.
