a lot or a little. typically they begin at 50 bux for the cheapest beginner acoustic guitars and can go up to 50,000 for those vintage ones. but mostly, the most expensive ones you'll see are around 3,500. for a beginner electric, you should be lookin at around 200 for a starter pack that comes with an amp and strap and picks and ya. for a more upper end guitar which will give you better quality sound and feel when your playing you will need to spend more money. the good sounding guitars start at around 500. but since your asking how much they cost i am assuming you don't play and want to start. so go out and look for a starter kit for an electric or if you want an acoustic then pick out one you want in a catalogue or online. there are good quality acoustics for around 300. it is one of those things where you can spend a penny and if you don't like it, oh well, its not a huge loss. but if you like it then you can get really into it and the guitar will last a while. if you get a used one at like a pawn shop then that could make it even cheaper. pawn shops will sell guitars for like 100 bux. but then you gotta get an amp and stuff with it. but thats not too bad. my suggestion is just to get new.

hope that is of some help.

Well dude if you are from India -
1.An acoustic guitar - Hobner/Givson will cost around Rs.1800
upwards.If you want a good model(a jumbo guitar),it will cost around Rs.2500
2.If you need an electric guitar, a Hobner/Givson will cost around Rs.3500,and the Amplifier(Cube) will cost at least Rs.2500
.......I have only mentioned Indian brands,a foreign brand like Yamaha will cost at least Rs.7000

If you stay in Delhi,I'll advise Daryaganj or Lajpat Nagar(Bharat Music House) as the best place to buy a guitar.

it matters what kind of guitar you want... some can cost you $200 to $500 or you can get some real expensive ones for over $1000 to $5000.. it all depends though

I've seen guitars at Target for as low as $150. They're some offshoot of a name brand, I believe it was part of Washburn, but not positive. They had acoustic, electric and bass. Shop around on eBay too, there's usually some cool deals to be had there. And don't forget your local used cd and music shop, if you have one.
