We Vermonters have to deal with this all the time. All we do is when the weather gets above 32 degrees we take our cars to the car wash and give the it a full treatment wash the under body and and body are washed and a nice coat of wax to protect the car until the next time in the wash. PS haven't had to deal so much with it this year gotta love global warming!

No matter what you drive, salt will corrode your frame. You need to wash off the underbody of your car as often as you can when there is salt on the roads.
Mercedes probably does use a less corossive material on their frames, but it is still suseptable to rust.

cold weather should not be a problem if you matinees your car regularly,and take the proper steps when weather changes.althou salt is known to cause corosion . so after driveing thru salty roads an undercarriage wash dosent hurt.

Salt, Snow and Metal dont mix very well. Put it this way-
Salt+Mercedes Chasis = Rust. That is something you dont want on your car.

yes, it can be very hard on the car. salt is a corrosive materal that will build up and over time with harm the car. best thing to do is wash it.

They do use one of the many chemicals available to melt and prevent ice. Find a good car wash that has underbody wash capability, and visit it every few weeks.
