I was raised a Republican and stayed so until my early 30s. I say that in order to let you know I kinda have a good idea what a Republican is even though I am now a Democrat.

I would say that you are 'moving' in the direction of a becoming a democrat. Being a democrat is deeper than the issues you brought up but there is one main theme that stands out in your thoughts... you are 'thinking'... you are 'questioning'... how things are and why.

That is exactly what I went through. I was taught to believe a certain way and was so caught up in what I thought I believed that it wasn't until God blessed me and gave me insight, that I was able to break lose of it.

It all started when I began to question... when I began to think.. when I began to say, "But what about...."

I wish you luck no matter which side of the fence you end up on. Either way, you have and are growing because you are beginning to think for yourself and think about humanity.

You don't have to be a dem or rep. People think that there are only two choices, and once you've picked a team, you have to vote with them.Just continue to think for yourself and when you have a question about something, get online and form your own opinion. Not everything you see on tv is accurate. Read 4 or 5 different news sources and the truth lies in between.

It doesn't matter you are a demo or rep. The country was run this way for long time and wont change.
Power and dominance is such a thing that if you don't exert occasionally America will be solving domestic problems just like India is solving Kashmir problem for the last 60 years.
Some people understand power only and so don't worry. if US wont use it, someone else will use it on US.

I think you need to do some research on the reasons for the war first of all. Even though your thoughts might be construed as Democratic, I think you need to understand all of the issues surrounding the was as opposed to reaching the easy "oil" answer.

For the record, I am independent. I hate everybody.

This really isnt enough to determine political party. One could be socialy liberal and fiscaly conservative or vice versa and for both they could be a republican OR a democrat.

Look at Gulliani. Hes a republican but belives in equality for gays and supports a womans right to choose (both issues republicans tend to vote AGAINST).

You are most likely a Democrat, though depending on your views on different topics, you might be an unspecified........other.

Bottom line, vote without party in mind, vote for the person you think will best fill the job.

It is about all we can really do, get informed..........and vote from a place of information.......not emotion.

to me it sounds like you are Democrat.
You can use this time on line and re search both parties. You can watch Hilary Clinton speeches on YouTube.com and other party members as well...
