Ya I haven't been to a bar since this smoking ban passed. It seems odd to go to a bar to drink alcohol and not be able to smoke. Whats next a Nordic-track in the back where the dartboard used to be.
Do you have any idea how dangerous drunk guys throwing darts can be... Ahh well I better keep my mouth shut before people are gathering signatures to vote on it the next election.

Bah, it is not about the other customers who can choose to go somewhere else, it is the employees who are often captive audiences to smokers.
I don't consider myself radical, but smoke bothers me when I am trying to do my work, and more often than not I don't have the time to shoo the smoker off from my immedeate area which is, in theory, a non-smoking area.
things would improve radically if bars and nightclubs were clearly non-smoking for the most part, with few who get special licenses to run smoking rooms away from the staff.

What it all boils down to is this
you have non-smokers and then you have radical non-smokers
most non-smokers have no problem with smokers (who have for the most part complied with every single request made of them to ---step outside to smoke--to not smoke in most places ect ect) as long as they have space to breathe without the smoke hovering around them------these are the people who really don't have much of a problem at all with having smokers around and find no major problem with living in the same world as the smoker---------THEN------you have the rabid edge of radicals ---these people do not want to share their world (which they see as the whole damned thing) with smokers at all and they will not stop at anything to see that the smoker is eliminated from their world (the whole damned thing) whatever they have to do about it---sad part is---they're the ones with the political clout and the leverage-----so they are the ones that are controling the laws that govern such matters-----they don't see a world that shares anything with anyone of an opposing view on any matter---and they are out to modify your behavior to meet THEIR standards at any cost---- smoking just has to be the first of a long line of things they have planned for us---- next (check out the new deal in New York about the French Fry debachle) will be governing how many calories you are allowed to consume---because they see overweight people as being unsightly and "at risk"
People better wake up and start taking a stand against this new move to modify everyone's behavior to some central common ground dictated by the authorities----because as it gets established in these present day matters---there are things that it can bring on down the road that a lot of people are going to be totally and utterly shocked by---but it will be too late to do a damned thing about it then !!!!!!!

Your freedom ends at the tip of another mans nose. If you can control the smoke while exhaling your theory is OK.
Why you worry to smoke with other smokers.

Public places should remain safe for ALL of the public & since second hand smoke is now a PROVEN health risk for people, then public places should not expose the public to health hazards. Private clubs are a different matter.

Let's make it even simpler and have bars where people can shoot each other and bars where they can't.
