I'm looking for web sites that tell/show how to make craft projects out of seashells. Or, if anyone has any ideas that they would like to share, that would be great too; but please be specific.
Thank you.

We took the tiny shells we found (and we found hundreds of them on Clearwater Beach in the evenings) and glued them on picture frames to hold our vacation pictures. They are adorable and very useful!

We used the larger shells as candles. Buy some wax, wick, and scent at the hobby store. Melt the wax, add a couple drops of any scent you like. Hold the wick with the bottom in the base of the shell and then carefully pour in the wax. When you use up the candle, then make a new one from the same shell!

I collect seashells. Live by the beach. I bought three straw wreath forms. Covered them with green plastic. I bought a cool glue gun and the glue sticks. I glued the plain white shells on first all around the wreath. Then I started gluing on the pretty shells, the unusual ones. You should place them first, and see if they look right where you place them before you glue. Be sure to collect a few old black ones for contrast, and a couple with both sides of the shells intact. On one wreath I got whimsical and glued pearls from old costume jewelry onto the oyster shells. These are very pretty and friends love them.

I have always admired the large mirrors framed in seashells that occasionally appear in decorating magazines. I made one on a smaller scale using hot glue but after a year or two, the shells began to drop off. Silicone glue was a better alternative.

OK, I had found a whole bunch of the larger snail type shells on the beach before... I took hot glue and glued them together, largest to smallest (about 6 or so). I took other materials together (pipe cleaners and eyes) and ended up making a catepillar. I know, it's dorky... but it's something I found to do with those kinds of shells. Good luck and have fun. You could always try a google search for other crafts.

Go to an arts and crafts store and get a plain wooden box-brush it with glue and dip it in sand to coat each side-brush off excess and let dry-then glue on shells...perfect beach craft-

a photo album cover, or a tissue box cover, with coasters to match, or take a large shell and line it with smaller shells and make a jewelry dish/ or make a frame from it.
