Do they still have places where you CAN smoke? I live in California & we have had these laws for many years. It took some getting used to, but it's really quite nice to be able to breath on the dancefloor when you're in a club! We smoke OUTSIDE! Public places are for the PUBLIC. Some smoke & some don't. For this reason, the bar must be a safe place for all of the public to use if they choose to do so. Second hand smoke has now been PROVEN to be a health risk & for this reason, it should not remain a choice in a Public setting. A private setting is different.

Why should people smoke at your workplace, causing you a premature death?

I work at a nightclub, and the only real solution is to create a total ban of smoking at bars and nightclubs; segregating the rooms into non-smoking and smoking areas cannot be enforced when the places get packed and the staff have other stuff to do than customers who are smoking in the wrong place.

Because you should respect the wishes and feelings of everyone around you. I am not saying that I agree with a non-smoking ban and I am not saying that I don't. I have been around smoke since I was little. My mother smoked all the time. Nothing is wrong with me. But if someone around you doesn't like it shouldn't you be the bigger person and go smoke outside. It's not like it will kill you to step outside and smoke.

BECAUSE FREEDOM CARRIES SOME RESPONSIBILITIES AND ONE OF THEM IS TO NOT HARM OTHER PEOPLE OF YOUR ACTIONS AND SECOND HAND SMOKE KILLS AND THATS THE REASON WHY YOUR FREEDOM IS DENIED.
