No. I would call him a man walking down a street with a t-shirt that says "white pride". What would make him a racist is the attitude of his heart, which I would not know unless I observed and got to know him.

Who cares what he has tattooed on his arms, thats his business. And I would call him a racist because that would make me one. If hes proud of his race, well good for him. I wave a puerto rican flag at the puerto rican parade, those that make me a racist or just proud of my heritage.

I don't know that I'd say it out loud, but I'd be thinking it; someone who considers "race" something worthy of either pride or shame clearly fits the definition of what I consider to be a racist.

Culture is something I can understand being proud of. If he had a tatoo saying "anglo-saxon pride" or "celtic pride" or any of a host of the other ethnic possibilities covered by 'white,' I'd think nothing of it. But race IMO is a meaningless distinction.

I think white is a racist term whether it is used by an Anglo or an African-American. White was not about skin color. It was about some supposed purity and superiority of one person over another. So, white is a racial slur for me, whoever uses it.

No, I wouldn't call him racist, although I would think he was ridiculous, as I would for a black man with "black pride" on his arm, an Asian person with "Asian pride" on his arm, and so on.

It's not about your race, although you should never feel ashamed of your skin color. But to take pride in something that imbues you with nothing . . . it furthers racial thinking, in my mind.

Unfortunately being proud to be white is frowned upon in todays society. Racist is a strong word though.

I just wish people would have more pride and thought into being "human" before what colour their skin is...because in the end, does it really matter?
