I use my Hard Disk in office , And I don't have HD in my home pc so I wana to use one Disk in both places ...I knw I have to shift it daily between two PCs. when I shift my HD in home pc it started to detect new hardware and again when I shift it in office. Should I have to insall two windows Xp in HD for both PC .....How can I do it .is it possible to have to windows XP in One HD

no you can not. it is better for you two have two hard drives with passwords to protect them.

Absolutely not. Well, I suppose if both computers where perfectly the same even down to the motherboard rev, but that's crazy. XP is very sensitive to any hardware changes. I added memory and a video card and ended up having to reload it, you know, call in for a new number etc. I suggest (if you want to steal data) that you try getting an external usb drive and a good disk copier, something like ghost. Of course this will cost more than getting a copy of XP home.

each time you move the hard drive when Windows XP loads it detects the different hardware from each PC. The OS has to load the proper drivers for all the system devices and peripherals. It's really not a big deal.

hopefully you are using a removable drive bay...

even if you did install xp twice the OS choice menu shows only one option i.e. windows xp
windows xp is very sensitive to hard ware changes
if you want to use the same hard disk go for windows 98.
win 98 is not sensitive to hard ware changes
