When your friends begin to flatter you on how young you look, it's a sure sign you're getting old.
When a man retires and time is no longer a matter of urgent importance, his colleagues generally present him with a watch
When you become senile, you won't know it.
there is a great quote on age in the independent
I still think of myself as I was 25 years ago. Then I look in a mirror and see an old basta#d and I realize it's me." ~ Dave Allen,

if you are 5 years old, then some one who is 10 is old- i remember when i was 14, i thought my mother was old and use to call her "the old Cheese", she was 28, now i'm 51- perhaps when i get to 75 i will think that is old ,, or i may refer to some one 90 up the road as 'the old codger', perhaps i'll think he's young and hansome and still has a dance or two left in him- so i guess it depends on how old you are and your own state of mind as i am still the same person i was when i was born - i just have a different perception,

I think your old when you start to feel physically limited in the activities you can do. I go play basketball at my local park and there is this 54 year old guy who is full of energy, then there is this 37 year old who is always huffing and pufifng and looks more wheathered. So i guess it depends on how you live.

Age is only a number. How old would you really be if you didn't "know" how old you are?

don't believe in "old" per se...there are so many vibrant people in their 70's, 80's and 90's that people assume they're old but they are doing more activities then friends I know who are in their 30's and 40's. age is just a number.
