They'll be in the final four, but won't play for The Cup.

The only reason they didn't go to the cup finals last year was key injuries to role players. IF....if the sabers are fully healthy, they will win the cup. They have more depth than the ducks and will be able to out play them. There is one obstacle in the east for the sabers. The devils are the only team with enough depth to match all four scoring lines of the sabers. If they can force the sabers to play 1-0, 2-1 scoring hockey...then the devils have a good chance. It's going to be very close, but I see the fire power of the sabers out scoring and out playing a lot of lines....proving for the first time that offense can win championships too as long as they have a goalie named ryan miller the bail them out.

I also agree that they are too young (hence too inexperienced) to win the cup. NHL playoffs are so intense, and the state of the mind comes into effect big time. Yes they did some good things last year, but I still think they are a year or two away from where they will need to be round after round.

They will be a great team for a few years however, so I can see it happening maybe next year or the one after

Well if Buffalo has man handled Pittsburgh and the Ducks needed OT to beat Pittsburgh I would think the Sabres have a very good chance.

you know what they are playing really good this year best start in franchise history, but there's still a long ways to go till the playoffs and if you know hockey, playoff hockey is the craziest playoffs in any professional sports, so nobody can predict who would win the Stanley cup. there has been lots of teams that have great starts, great finishes and even a great all around season and still didn't win the cup. Hockey is the hardest championship to win, The Stanley Cup.

watch and discover out. it truly is up for grabs today, sharks, wings, geese, sens, and buffalo have the perfect shot. to make a call from right it is too difficult. if i had to opt for on i'd prolly %. the winner of the wings v sharks series. i imagine we are seeing parity like we've not in any respect considered earlier contained in the nhl; it is going to take a miracle for a crew to repeat contained in the subsequent 5-10 years. There rather isn't any dominate crew anymore.

It should be Sabres and Ducks in the final. However, that is why they play the games! It doesn't always work out as the stats show.

Look at the Oilers last year. 8th seed and went all the way to game 7!! (They actually won game one, but not on the scoreboard).

ummm it's very hard to say. they look very strong this year.
but I would have to put my money on the Ducks. I mean, look at their lineup. The all-star team is practically the Ducks starting lineup.
When you have as much talent as they do (Pronger, Neidermayers, Selanne, and Giguere just to name a few) it's gonna be hard to lose even if they play badly.

I think it's gonna be close, but there's no beating experience.

If they keep up what they are doing now then yes, but sometimes teams, like the Red Wings, completely blow the playoffs, so this may happen as well.
