and was 2 years older than u and u were apart for 3 of the 4 years but they were mean to u when u were together ( as in friends) and u came across them 3 years later and they still liked you should u give them a chance

I think you ought to give teh person a chance-
you said the person liked you for 4 yr but was mean( this may be a love -hate relationship)
I went throught it once) And now they have pass that stage and is ready to be open!
You take the chance you at risk but if you don't you always have to question( what if that person was the one?)
Express to the person openly how you would like to be treated!

Sounds to me like you already have given this some thought.Personally,if I liked the person,I would go for it.Maybe you can be friends at least,if you decide you don't like this person in that way.Good luck & Happy Holidays..
