Yes I do. Sometimes I wish my husband could have one of those experiences because he just thinks the world is out to get him all the time. He lets everyday pass him by while thinking of what has happened in the past.

I also think that the ghosts of Christmas future is telling him what could happen if he doesn't change. I think this is a little drastic but it gets the point across. Although he is bitter and inconsiderate he still has that spirit of a small child that has nothing but love and acceptance within him. The story tries to reach those same people that forget what pleasure and fulfillment comes out of helping others. There may have been missed opportunities for Scrooge but he has to still make the decision to acknowledge only he has the power to control his future.

Good question

That's a remarkably insightful look into the story... I would agree that the essence of the story is indeed a spiritual self reflection on the good he could have done, the good he could do, and the consequences of not changing will be in the future.

Very well said.

Yes, he sees the opportunities he's had...and seen the results he got from the paths he's chosen...and then he rediscovered the joy of Christmas by turning his life around
