Blogging is an exercise in every would-be writer's favorite past-time: narcissism. It's a public journal posted on the Internet on the odd assumption that someone else actually cares what you have to say.
In fact, it's a lot like Yahoo! Answers.

Blogging does not necessarily mean only making your private diary public. It can also be used to discuss contemporary topics that interest you, and giving more publicity to issues that are not in the spotlight of the mainstream news. With a possibility of commenting the incident yourself!

"blog" is short for weblog, and i wouldn't recommend starting one, seeing as how most of the sites that offer spots are infested with viruses. you would lose more than you stand to gain.

I use my blog to vent and for that purpose it is very beneficial.
