Everything depends on matter in this physical world. Without matter there is no body to house the emotions and feelings. Also, there must be at least two people/animals involved to form an emotion; hence the need for another body, physical entity or matter.

If sex fits outside of emotions and feelings, and is categorized as being strictly physical, then you might have a better society with robots that enjoy having sex, and are free of any worries. Emotions and feelings hurt more than they heal sometimes, and without them life would be easier.

Love is the ultimate answer here. Love is not just an emotion, it is within you from creation. It is expressed from emotion. Mentally you compute the knowledge of good and bad, and love enters into the good part. But as you know just to say the words is not the feeling. Whether it is the love that Ron Wood gives playing his guitar, or Eric Clapton when he writes, and plays. BB King the emotion he emits for the Blues by vocals and guitar. Robotic is the way of beings without emotion, and no doubt some people are just that, robotic, because they are not able to express, for what ever reason. However life without love to express, through emotion as a human being I would say, my dear, it is not worth living at all. Big deal the guy with the most toys goes to heaven, big deal all the silly questions about man's creation are answered, there is no romance, no mystery, no love for life, and the pursuit of happiness for all mankind depends on just that, the questions, how does it feel? how does it taste? how does it smell? what does it look like? what does it sound like? And these are the senses that emit to the emotional status of our being? A child for the first time tasting chocolate? Man o man what a delight, and all the senses are flowing. Taking your first dip in the big ocean, man o man what a thrill. There would be no thrill without emotion. Just a programmed brain as a robot.

"What is mind? No matter. / What is matter? Never mind."
-- George Berkeley / Thomas Hewitt Key / Homer Simpson...

Life is that which eats/is eaten and reproduces/is reproduced. Maybe these things could happen without emotions or feelings, but what would be the point?

Reading this question I imagine an individual drugged or injured to the point where they perceive objects and events but lack feelings. It would be a severely reduced existence. Someone in that condition would depend on others for their survival.

Emotions evoke all of our actions. Without emotion there would be no life just necessity. The human society would fall apart because people wouldn't have the need for most of the modern inventions we now have.

life is a combination of creatures with emotions and feelings, noble or base.what concerns us here is that there must be feelings.without feelings and emotions ,we will not be able to feel the beauty or the ugliness of life.life is a feeling ,love is a feeling,God is a feeling, hatred is a feeling, sex is a feeling, tolerance is a feeling, violence is a feeling.......we are nothing but feelings.to be without feelings is to be nothing.

There are case where it is so.....

The two persons observed who were born like this, actually have a tendency to poke out their own eyeballs, and destroy their bodies, but they don't know it......... So, what does this mean...?

Though there should exist no fears, without care, there will, inevitably, be an early death.......
