I am just wondering how do restuarants usually catch people dine 'n' dashing. Such as denny's or ihop. I have seen cameras all over the restuarant.. do they snap a picture of your license plate or what? can they?

Lemme just say.... if you leave in the middle of dinner, it's all good. At the end, you'll get caught.

Being a server for years, I've noticed some things. We servers generally need to turn over tables quickly, so a little while after you've started eating, we start watching you. It's not to judge you, or make fun of you.... it to see if we can speed you up, or if you're done, get you the check. Then guess what, when you have the check we still watch you, to see if you've put a card in, fussed w. the book, etc.

RIGHT after you get up, we're usually over there, getting the paperwork so we can clear your table and get someone else in.

So by the time you're halfway to the door, we have already told the manager you didnt pay (because you're messing with our money), and someone is already headed out one of the doors looking for you. If you make it to your car, at least 3 people saw you get in, what kind it was, and what the license number is.

PS. They aren't allowed to video tape you unless it is posted at the entrance that the building is under video surveillance. Same with parking lots. That way you can choose whether or not to go in.

most servers are pretty attentive to their diners. they keep an eye on all of their tables. if someone splits without paying their check, you can bet the server is right on your tail out the door. if you happen to get out and leave without paying the bill, and they get your license plate #, they will call the police. I've seen it happen a few times in all the years I've worked in the restaurants.

they can and they do... but have you noticed there is usually a homeless guy hanging around on the periphery.. he is actually a government spy and will follow you home before having his way with you and then calling the police.

ok not really..

but yes - it is legal for them to film your licence plate. Best bet is to just pay the 10 dollars for a burger?!??!

Unless it's really busy, your waitress is going to see you leave before you pay. The cameras are there to catch the robbers and such.

They are too slow, and you must have someone leave ahead, so they can have the motor running and out of view of the door. Because of cameras, it would be wise to wear disguises as well. Wigs, sunglasses, heavy make-up, ect....

good day, it particularly is purely undeniable incorrect! often times they make the waiters/waitresses pay whilst human beings walk out on their bill. And for the main area, their waitstaff is not greater suited or worse than the different eating place. provide them a smash! And pay your bill!
