yes, they do but some don't think it's right..regardless, the name of the holiday is maulidur rasul or Mawlid, Mawlid an-Nabi.it is on 12 rabiulawal according to the islamic calendar.
it is a holiday in my country.on this day, usually there are parade, religous talk and special event concerning the birth of muhammad and his life. but we can celebrate the birth of muhammad everyday of the year be it on the 12 rabiulawal or not.

As a Muslim who read and know about Islam from authentic Islamic books and not by culture traditions which is different from the religion in many aspects. No, Muslims SHOULD NOT celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohamed (peace Be upon him) because he said " we have two feasts only, the feast after Ramadan (the fasting month) and the feast of sacrifice by a sheep" . But some Muslims do celebrate his birth but it's a wrong action because it's considered as an innovation in the religion which is forbidden in Islam. We should not add something new to the religion that it's not mentioned in the Quraan or by the sayings of Prophet Mohamed. nor taking something off of it. nor changing anything in the religion. That's why the Quraan is the same till now since it was revealed on Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him.
My advice always to everybody. learn Islam from the Islamic books not from the Muslims. You will see a big different because if Muslims follow the Islam according to the Quraan and the sayings of Prophet Mohamed. I'm sure that the whole world would convert to Islam to be righteous, peaceful and spiritual like the Muslims. If you have any question please don't hesitate to contact me.

no they do not. some do . but hardly any. if u ask any muslm they will say no. the types of celebrations we have are like eid which is like..see we (muslims) fast for 30 days which we call "ramadan" and at the end of ramadan we have a huge celebration called "eid" & we have another eid like 2 or 3 months later where we slaughter a goat or lamb beuz 1 day god asked th eprophet to slaughter his son. so the prophet goes to his son & tells him the news of wut god told him to do . the son said "if allah(our 1 & only god) says so then i will do it " so infront of many people he wuz bout to slaughter his son but god was so happy that he followed his orders he replaced the son with a lamb ( or i think it was a lamb) & the son was not hurt. so we have a celebration 4 that . but no b-day 4 our prophets ...hope that answers ur question : )
