I have over 20 books that have been sitting on my bookshelf for years now, and there wasnt a time when I opened it up and actually read them. Most of them are from school. Where can I sell these?

Textbook411.com buys books direct for cash, you dont have to wait for someone to come along who needs your particular book like with Ebay, amazon, or half.com. Therefore Textbook411 is your best bet!

Ebay is *clearly* your best bet because books simply aren't worth a lot of money. But on Ebay you will find the exact people who are looking for what you want and you'll get the right price, even if it's not very much. But at least you'll get the maximum price.
If you can't do Ebay, find the used book story in your city, box them, and take them there for a quote. They'll want to see the condition.

List them on eBay.
If they are college books that can be used at the local college, post ads on campus.
The number one way I was able to sell my mother's Library of books before she moved was have a yard sale. It worked and we made over $2000 with almost 5000 books.
Hope this helps

Look in your phone book at coffee shops that have books to read in them, little intimate places and see if they would be willing to buy them. You could always be a good samaritan and donate them to a convelescent home, library, school, etc. Otherwise, I would call some book stores and see if they would be able to take them off your hands. You won't get much for them, trust me on this one. I just went thru this.

Ok, don't just set up shop on auction e-bay. You won't make any money after listing and shipping costs. You have to go to half.ebay.com., which is dedicated to media. It is super-simple to set up. You put the price you want to get for the book and leave it up until it is sold. It doesn't cost you a dime to list, and half.ebay.com takes a small percentage of the sales. Some shipping is even reimbursed to you! I sold about forty of my books on half.ebay.com and I am very satisfied.

Take them to your local used bookstore. Ebay and similar sites aren't viable because the postage to mail is often worth more than the books.
Good luck.

Sell them on e-bay or amazon.com, or put up a flyer at the local collages. Best Wishes and Happy Holidays.

Very old school books are probably not going to be in big demand anywhere.
I would suggest donating them to the Goodwill and taking it off your taxes.
