in all honesty I would say that the snoring is okay. My oldest son has snored since he was born, he is now 4 and everything is okay. My second has reflux and laryngo-tracheomalacia and snores baddly.... however the docs are okay with it, and no harm is done.

I would talk to the doctor about the possible causes.. it may be harmless, or something more serious

I strongly suggest getting this checked out by your doctor. There me be nothing to worry about, or possible an obstruction of the airways. Enlarged tonsils and adnoids or the usual cause. There may be a case of sleep apnea. Although, only a doctor can tell. My daughter has all of these at some point. It may just be a cold, has this been going on for a while?

YOu should have him checked. I think it depends on how loud the snoring is. My nephew would always snore since birth and he had to have his tonsils removed and something done to his nasal passage. They told his mom that at any moment in the night he could've stopped breathing because his throat was closing and was closed so much. I would have him checked out just to be safe. It's not normal

Oh please at least it's your son...lol....my daughter (now 2) has snored since she was born, and she gives her father some serious competition. I have three children, 2 boys 12 & 6 also, and they can't even compare to her combined. Her doctor said it's normal, and she probally got it from daddy as he laughed. At least we know she's sleeping very comfortably. Happy Holidays.

Most of the time, these sounds are just a noisy nuisance that gradually subsides as baby's airways grow and as he learns to swallow excess saliva. Sometimes snoring can be a clue that the breathing passages are not as clear as they need to be. When the breathing passages are obstructed, baby has to breathe harder to move air past the obstructions, which produces the sound of snoring.

Each month as your baby grows and his airways mature, the snoring should subside...or at least turn into a more bubbly, gurgling noise during the pre-teething stage, when he produces extra saliva. Rarely should snoring interfere with baby's breathing, but your doctor can run a special test, called a polysomnogram that records the breathing patterns during sleep.
