silverchair has been around for years. they were out when i was in highschool where have you been. they rock!!!!!! check out some of their earlier stuff, you are sure to like it

I am an aussie (like Silverchair) and they were huge about 10 years ago.
They aren't doing much these days but still remain popular.
The lead singer had an eating disorder but married Natalie Imbruglia - another well know aussie singer. Google her. She also dated Lenny Kravitz and whats-his-name from friends.

Not gonna lie...Frogstomp was their only overall good album. If you don't agree, you're lieing to yourself. i don't care how it offends someone because I really do like them. The "Year 2000 Anthem" was my favorite song for over 6 years. But, I got over their "attitudes' after they cancelled both shows that I had tickets to. You know what, I agree with the guy above; they are overrated!

They're pretty good. I really like "Ana's Song (Open Fire)" on their album Neon Ballroom. And it seems the lead singer guy won his battle with bulimia.

they are a very well known australian band. well i know that they are well known here, dont know about anywhere else.
they are popular in the underground overseas scene.
and billy martin of good charlotte is a big fan of them
