if the mind produces this changes in the body...can the mind produce them outside the body?

(physical changes like movement and stuff)

So... our mind is just a bunch of chemical reactions?
Could we... you know make this chemical reactions artificially with some sort of ???? (dunno what) and make of every person a genious or a saint or something else!!??
And regarding the quantum theory...impresive I must say... but how does the quantum theory explain that this chemical reactions that are our mind affect our reality? sorry about the extra questions but I would like to know about the subject

How can non- physical representations that I type into my computer produce the physical changes, such as printing out a page?

PS no, mind can not produce changes outside the body. Mind is emergent of brain. Mind is instantiated in the brain. Study my counter question and think of mind as a computer program. This crude, but effective analogy will get you past your dualism, I hope.

PS no, mind is more than chemical, it is also electrical. Did you not understand my question? The computer has shown us how immaterial representations can have an effect on the material!! Not to say the mind is a computer, but the analogy needed to be instructive to you. It seems to have gone right over your head. Because your impressed with some mumbo-jumbo about quantum mechanics. What does the study of what takes place in the micro-world have to do with the Mind?? Not much to cognitive science, as we still need to understand the macro-world of the mind.

I suppose this provokes the question whether the mind, soul, etc. is just a series of chemical reactions in the brain or something else. Regardless, studies are being interpreted as to show that the mind plays a large factor in the body's physical capabilities, etc. and may even be able to affect other physical objects.

And hey, quantum mechanics basically states that there is a chance of anything happening at any given moment. So of course it's possible! =D

An anecdote, perhaps? Don't quote me on this one, but I've heard of an experiment in Japan or elsewhere where several monks meditate around a bucket of water as it freezes, while another lot hold knives and think evil thoughts while another bucket freezes. The patterns in the frozen ice were erratic and chaotic in the "evil thought" bucket, while mathematically perfect in the "meditating monks" bucket. Once again, don't quote me on it.

I hope I've answered your question!

if you look into the theory of quantum physics then your answer is yes a nonphysical mind can produce physical changes in a body.

the theory being that everything is made of energy that can be transmuted into one form to another

Wow. There's no answer to this one. Read Descartes' "Principles of Philosophy" for one famous historical view.

first you would have to prove that such a thing as a "nonphysical mind" even exists.
