Probably just a wheel bearing that needs grease. You can probably do this yourself. Take the hub cap off. Pop off the small "cap" with a screwdriver in the center of the axle end. (No, you don't need to take the tire off, but you do need to jack the car up). You will see a large nut with a cotter pin. Take the cotter pin out with pliers. Remove the nut (hold the tire while you use a tool to remove the nut--pliers will work to turn the nut). Then remove a large washer. Then you'll see the wheel bearings. The outer wheel bearing will just come out if you pull on it. Just use your fingers and stick some wheel bearing grease in there. When you put the nut back on, tighten it snug. Then only 1/4th to 1/2 turn more with pliers. Put cotter pin back in, and you're done! (If you have a broken wheel bearing, they are not hard to replace. You can do that too). Check out autozone.com for directions for your specific vehicle. $3 for grease. $15 each (you need two) for new wheel bearings. Total if you do it yourself: about $28.

If it turns out to be the axle seal do both sides at the same time. Cost would be 400 bucks I believe. That dealer cost repair shop may done it for less . I forgot one thing ealer did you inspect your wheel cylinders . They can leak causing same trouble. Just look under the truck to the backing platesor even the inside of your rims. If you see wettness thenit will be the wheel cyls or the axle seals. Good luck hope I helped
