i just received my mail order penguin, why is it blue and not black and white?

i filled my pool up with ice and threw the darn thing in and it just turned blue, i poked it with a stick, and it just roles its eyes, i hope its a penguin and not a parrot.

Penguin, parrot, whats the difference? Both would make great pets. Just be nice to your new pet, please. Don't poke it.
