I would buy both of my children a house and new car.
I would buy their wives a new car too.
Probably throw in a million each so they can furnish their houses and buy things they always wanted.
I would pay off the house of everyone that has ever been nice to me or my family (or give them a comparable amount in cash if their house is paid off).
I would set up trust funds for my kids and grandkids.
I would donate to some charities that I like the most and can see that are doing the most good--sorry but the only requirement is that these charities would have to be in the U.S.
I would give my ex-husband $50,000. Because that would just be enough to whet his appetite for more--and he wouldn't get anymore---LOL (unique torture)
Change my life? Well, of course, I would have to quit my suck job. So I would have all the time I wanted to play with my grandkids.

Money changes people a lot!
First, I would pay off any outstanding debt such as house mortgage, bank debt, college education debt, etc. upto a reasonable limit.
I would take my spouse and family members on a dream vaction.
I would donate say 10 to 15% of my winnings to a good charity.
If any of my family members needs special health attention that I have ignored, I would not hesitate to use my winnings for it. I would also provide for the college education expenses of my children.
The balance amount I would invest in a proper way, so that I get a good income from it all my life.
Then I would make a Will so that my assets are passed on with least loss and maximum benefit to my spouse and children.
Incidentally, not relevant to this question, I would like to keep my winnings a secret (if possible) from others. You tend to have a lot of long-lost 'relations' and 'friends' suddenly desiring to meet you, if they know that you have hit the jackpot.

I would give alot of it away to people I know who could use it too, because that is alot of money and I don't need it all. I would buy a home out of town, like a ranch type place where I could own a horse and some other animals. I would pay off all my debts and live the same life I do, which is worshiping God. Also I trust that God would show me what to do with the rest of the money and where to spend it.

I would build an Orthodox church consecrated to the memory of the christian martyrs of the orthodox who were slaughtered by the Turks over the centuries. the Holy New Martyrs.
the portion I don't use would invest in a home, some rental properties, whatever. My lifestyle would not change one damn bit. I am humble and crave privacy and no glamour and public displays.
