Which news story is more interesting? Mount Hood climbers or bombing in Iraq?

Those climbers were insane. They didn't take enough food and weren't dressed warm enough. The polaroid pictures found on Kelly's camera prove how insane they were. They must have had a death wish. Did we really have to hear about this all week long? Would you rather hear about this or explosions in Iraq

Both are news worthy. However, the updates on Iraq are more important to Americans. When people push the limits as the three climbers did, they often pay the ultimate price. There was no reason Mt. Hood had to be climbed, especially in the winter when storms are expected and are often violent as this one was. They took the chance for no good purpose; they lost! In Iraq, we have brave men and women fighting for freedom. They have a purpose. I choose to keep aware of what is happening there.

Yeah, listening for 1 week to the same stuff about these climbers is rather boring. But hey, it's an easy way for the news people to get viewers, so if they get money, then they'll keep running "sensational" stories.

As for Iraq, well, we've been hearing about that for a couple of years now, so that's kind of stale too. The explosions are nothing new, but the part that does change is the political situation there.

I was wondering what soldiers in Iraq would be thinking if they knew the news was so focussed on three unprepared thrill seeker types who voluntarily chose to climb some frozen rock in Oregon risking the lives of rescue people.

Before you jump all over me yes yes I realize these three climbed that mountain to bring attention to the war in Iraq, global warming, world hunger, land mines, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and the depletion of the rain forest....Oh wait these three made the climb because, apparantly their hotel didn't have HBO.

I do feel bad they had to lose their lives but at least it will serve as a reminder to the rest of us not to do stupid things.

It was the wrong time of year for mountain climbing for one thing it's winter already. I think they were probably over confident in themselves and got in over their head. Not well thought out at all. As for the bombing in Iraq it would be good if it was the Americans doing the bombing. That's getting old too but I'm sure it's even older for the troops over there.

nope its through fact the area of the government thats having problems is the democrats and that they opt to maintain it as hush hush as available so there's no longer as lots information to record and its a protracted working tale so as that they are going to fill the time they might use for government problems with the Mt hood comments too so it gets alot greater time i'm sorry to assert the two climbers are possibly ineffective and we will not locate them till the snow melts end of tale oh and tax payers we choose 30 billion money for the planes and helicopters that helped interior the hunt now pay up

well as for news . i stop watching the news. i got sick of hearing about people dieing and my heart goes out to the family to the 3 guys they did what the love the most don't matter how crazy it sound to others coz some time what we do might be just as crazy er but( i was and have been keeping up on the 3 guys) hoping they found alive

A little of each. Interspersed with things Christmas. Which is celebrated all around the globe. Plenty of interesting stories there. Men who test their selves against "things" are beyond my comprehension.

Well human tragedy is always a best seller.Look at the case in England 5 prostitutes murdered.For a little while it displaces the horror of war.Sometimes you wonder if anything good is happening.Ever,it's always doom and gloom
