How do you become a T.V/film Extra, i live in the Southwest England

The best thing to do is to buy a book called Spotlight Contacts and they have loads of TV/Film Extras Agencies in there its like the Yellow Pages of Acting and theatre its only £14.99 in Waterstones.

I actually did some research on this for a client recently. In our area both BBC and ITV have stopped keeping names of people who want to work as an extra, and now use casting agencies instead.
I found lists of casting agencies by doing a search (the results are below). Don't spend money on photos or anything until you know which agency you want to use and what their requirements are.
A lot of agencies charge a fee; find out what you get in exchange before you commit yourself.
You can also keep an eye on the local press for open auditions. It's also worth joining a drama group or going to classes for some experience just to give you an edge in auditions.

get some head shots done at the local photography studio and take them to a talent agent is the fastest way..you can of course look for your own spot but the talent agents have the ""in""already and can start sending you out quick..in the mean time you can get jobs at telegram places or dj/party places to get your face around..doing singing telegrams and hosting parties good luck

There are loads of websites you can you look for that search specifically for extras for TV and film in the UK. Just Yahoo search it!

Alternative drop into your local jobcentre.

to be talented enough to make it.if so,don't worry u will achieve your goal even if u lived in the south pole.
