Should Marijuana be legalized? Many stupid people follow exactly what the government feeds us, which is an awful way to be. The government lies about weed and only gives out its "potential" harmful effects. Anyone who is against the legalization of weed should first think about our current laws. Why is alcohol legal? People argue that marijuana has no health benefits, so then may i ask what the health benefits of alcohol are? There have been no documented cases of a single person dying off of weed, and many people find it to be a fun, mind-opening experience. So tell me what you think on this matter, whether you agree with me or if your one of those insecure people who has nothing better to do than complain to other people about what they do with their free time. I want to hear people's stand on this!

it is legal in Denver, Colorado but you have to be 21 years old. It should have the same laws as alcohol because even alcohol more dangerous than weed. Actually cigarettes are more harmful than weed too and yet they are legal so why not weed?

hmm, i was firt opposed to legalizing it. my cousin used to smoke it a lot and agrees with your standpoint. I think legalizing it has a lot to do with what types of messages we are sending future generations. whatever is put into legislation may have an affect (or is the result of) current ideology. With alcohol, Prohibition did not work because people were making moonshine alcohol which was causing a lot of health problems, so it was better to legalize alcohol. With pot, what age would you legalize it for? 21 (legal drinking age) or 18 (legal for buying cigarettes)? Another thing to remember is that a lot of people get confused with smoking as a direct link to cancer- however, that has actually NOT been proven. Smoking may cause cancer but it has been proven to- there is just a high correlation between both. anyway, there is just so much controversy. Bottom line: I think there should be freedom in what we do, but we should be educated about drug or alcohol abuse (even if the effects are long term).

Legalization of marijuana in the United States would probably provide money to "our" government; but what would that money be used for? More programs to ban smoking? Smoking what? Cigarettes, marijuana, grape vines?

As long as there is a world-wide monetary (and maybe political) advantage of keeping marijuana illegal, the U.S. is not going to deem the sale, growing, or usage of marijuana legal. The government might even have to reduce the agents now employed by Federal and state drug enforcement agencies. Where could those people get another "cushy" job?

Yes it should No health benefits? tell that to the glaucoma and cancer patients that use it for medical purposes. What is even funnier about the weed laws is the fact that we cannot legally grow cannabis hemp yet we import tons of the stuff for industrial use. Just about every thing the government has told us about weed is a lie For more info check out www.medicalmarijuanaprocon.org Then decide for yourself what the truth is about weed

i don't know about legalized as such, but there is no good reason it should be illegal. sometimes we hear the word decriminalized in this regard. Making it 'legal' may make the gov't wizards to think they should control and tax what really is just a weed.

Should be just like alcohol, except legal at age 18.

Tax the hell out of it, make it a crime to drive under the influence, and focus on fighting the dangerous drugs.
