What kind of game is it?
If it's a console disc, check to see if it is scratched or if there is dust. Wipe it off from the inside to the outside (carefully!). If a cartridge, try blowing in it and the system and maybe hitting it? If computer, there may be nothing you can do. Check online to see if there are any patches.

I have the 360 and mine freezes at certain parts of the game because of scratches and dirt. clean the disc, if it happens again, unplug the console and that should take care of the problem, if not, i don't think there is anything you can do.
All of this is of course dependant on the console you have.

check for scratches and also it may have caused a problem on your computer but if it is a game that uses the internet you might have a virs or something else trying to get through your firewall stopping it

If it's on a CD, try putting toothpaste on any visible scratches. Then, wipe it clean. Stick it in and give it a try.
