I think no matter what you give her she will love it, you sound really sweet and kind, just get her somthing small and have it engraved for her, she will love it because it's from you.

I don't think so (is it too much to spend). The money was given to you to buy her something. If she is responsible, than a $200 Tiffany & Co. necklace would be something that she would cherish for years to come. Also, during that first year of college, I am sure she would love having something that meant so much.
After all, a quality present from your little sister means a lot. Good luck and I think you have made a wonderful choice!

The question is, "has my big sister been there for me in the past and will she be there for me in the future." If the answer to that is yes then the answer to your question is simple. Buy her the necklace. Maybe you can even get it engraved with something like "best sis ever." Now if your sister has not been there for you and acts like you bother her on a daily basis then buy her a ten dollar necklace from Clairs and pocket the rest.

You are giving fifty dollars ( not even) , your mom is giving 200. If that necklace is something you really know she will love and cherish then give it to her. Do your mom the honor of at least saying it was from both of you. Giving half your savings to make up the difference is a very generous and appropriate thing to do.

Yes, definitely! She is your big sister, but that's way too extravagant. Maybe you could buy her that for her next birthday, but not a going-away present. May I suggest getting her a card and putting the $200 in it! That way, she'll be able to get her own gift!

I think it is a GREAT gift!!! What a way to remember this momentous time in her life and yours-- you are a very thoughtful sister and I hope she appreciates you--- and come one, who doesn't love TIFFANY!!

I think if your sister is going to college you could get her a more practical gift. If she doens't have one, an ipod or digital camera would be good.I think the necklace would be a nice graduation gift though.

i don't think thats too much, i think you really care for your older sister if you want to give her that much. its really sweet how younger sisters care, becsue not all of them do.. i really hope she likes your present and that you can afford it, if you cant at least you tried, its the thought that counts, good luck:D

I'm sure she would like that... but I'm sure she would like anything you got her, it's the thought that counts.
