everything has changed since I was young - the first transistor radio didn't come out til I was like 10. Gas was 30 cents a gallon when I started to drive. computers were just a concept. we had rotary dial phones. there was no color TV, no cable, no satellites in orbit, no interstate highway system, women didn't have meaningful jobs outside the home, no microwave ovens, coffee was percolated, no McDonald's or any other fast food chain, no FM radio, you could go to a movie theater for 50 cents for a 1st run movie, it was unusual to have ac in your house, families ate together every night, women wore one piece swim suits - the bikini was so scandalous when invented that Life Magazine ran a feature story on it and retailers put the mag behind the counter, Condoms were the only birth control, people still got polio and a host of other diseases that we don't give a second thought to today - guess I'm getting old eh? I graduated high school in '67.

windows and computer programs are a lot more user-friendly and idiot-proof

sitcoms and SNL are much worse

music is extremely much worse

the internet has become a part of everyone's life

and the whole becoming an adult thing which is just trash

the economy has, of course, gone straight to hell since the 90's and everyone i know is one paycheck away from living on the street

dating and marriage has changed so much. women are a lot more independent, it's no longer like guys rule everything and women obey them.

In USA. So. Calif. No freeways. Girls had to wear skirts or dresses to school. We could go all around town, not scared of kidnappers or perverts. Teachers could rap your arm or let or hand with a ruler if you were naughty. no one I knew had parents that were divorced. All scenes in the movies that started with kisses faded off and quit. def. censored. No swearing in movies. No fast food places. We never ate out. 100s of other stuff. TV when I was 12 or 13.

well for one thing i am more appreciative of my youth.

I think the internet has changed alot so the world really is alot smaller than it ever was before becuase you can talk to somone from across the globe instantly rather than back and forth by post which used to take many months to end a concversation.

Well, one thing is for sure. I never ran through the sprinklers in my backyard naked again. Man, I miss those days.
