If it's not for the government wanting to invade your privacy it's a nosy relative or a friend all up in your business. Mines not as private as I would like but what can you do? Good question.

People have choices and can choose not to disclose whatever they don't want to.
Even if someone hacks into your computer, it does not become public knowledge because they only want information to steal from you.
People are always free to keep to themselves as much as they want. So my answer is yes.
