Why is my yahoo mail box freezing up ?

My computer is working fine. But whenever I open my yahoo mail box, everything freezes up. Then I have to ctrl-alt-delete, or turn off the computer. Since the first time, it never worked again. During the last 1 week, I tried about 10 times. It always freezes up and a 3-4 " vertical line appears in the middle. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix it?

Do you keep old mail?
Did you opt to save a copy of sent mail?
