I love their spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra.
Heck, I also love their dinner salads, bread and spumoni.
But maybe the best part is the waiting for your table with 50 other people you don't know but seem nice, lounging on the funky victorian sofa's, listening for the hostess to get on the intercom and finally say your party's name. Especially if it's some weird, funny, made-up name.

Maybe I'm biased on food. OK, I am, but still, after hearing about The Old Spaghetti Factory for years, I finally ate there (Louisville, KY). I went with an old girlfriend and had a horrid time. The best part of the meal was the server. He was proficient but the meal kinda sucked. It was typical American fare pasta. I found it to be completely bland, boring and uneventful. I believe the big gratis was an ice cream course after the "Chef Boyardee" pasta. It wasn't even gelato!

I hadn't gone for years, went a few weeks ago when rush hour traffic was backed up at least an hour on the road to the bridge I had to drive over, and I spotted it and thought, huh, haven't been there in years, I'll just grab a quick supper. Well, the server was nice and friendly, but: got wrong appetizer, got cold soup had to send back to reheat, and while the portions were great, taste was very bland and the seafood sauce left the word 'seafood' in question.

I hadn't eaten at the Spaghetti factory for many years. I went to one recently, as I was vacationing with my young niece and nephew and thought It would be a good, kid-friendly, choice for them. I was actually pleasantly surprised! Having eaten at many upscale, authentic, Italian restaurants I was expecting mediocre food at best but the food was really tasty, service was good, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go back, especially if I was looking for a good family dining experience.

This place is on the map because it appeals to many folks. The food is not true Italian. The bread is good, food alright, price is fair, dessert is fine and coffee, soda, or tea. You also get a salad or soup, and all of this with pretty good service for two is less than twenty dollars or so. Pretty good. Want more in a meal, expect to pay more for a meal. I like it!!!
