If you'd like to discuss generalities...boys will tend to throw out answers, hoping to find the right one. Girls will tend to mull over a question and reach a final answer. This will create a dynamic in which 'boys answer all the questions'...even if they are wrong half the time...and perhaps appear smarter.
This however is a gross generalization. Any individual may have developed a learning style that is more extroverted or more introverted. The extroverts will answer quickly, with little thought. They will often be mistaken, but don't let it bother them and give another answer. The introvert will think things over...formulate an answer. Having invested so much time they will then be more devastated by producing a wrong answer. Spending even more time producing an alternative.
OR...it could be that having been stupid enough to ask this in a public place...you kinda answered it...

Absolutely - boys are smarter. After all, girls are prettier so us boys have to have something to even the odds.
