Actually, yes, but as a last name. There is a famous doctor in Toronto called Marilyn Laiken.
To be honest, I don't like it. A friend had a dog called Laika, and sound quite similar.

I LOVE this name i have heard it before as a boy's name. i don't like it for a girl but it sounds GREAT as a boy name! a good middle name would be Isaiah! have fun and congrats!! =D

I like it, it sounds Scandinavian, might be fun to look it up as to its origin.
But as a rule, I don't like names that when I hear them, I wonder if its a boy or girl. Just a personal preference I guess, but I like solidly "male" and "female" names.

Yeah, I've seen a few people named this. I love the name! It's very trendy and pretty. I like it spelt Laikyn though.
