you'll have to find a shipping company and or the airlines to find out the cost of this. also you'll need to check with the state of Hawaii to find out about quarentine and coggins info. they may have some info on companies that do shipping for horses. Hawaii is a tuff state to take animals into. quarentine will cost you a hefty price also, so make sure you check into all the fine print on that. the state embassy or dept of agriculture for either Hawaii or the state you live in should be able to give you all the requirements. hope this helps and good luck

Shipping by sea takes approx a week to ten days. And the cost is about $2000. This does not include shipping the horses to the port in Los Angeles. The link below is all of the requirements you need to get your horse into the state. We have shipped horses (over 20 head) to Hawaii by air and sea and both methods seem to work well. The horses shipped by sea do lose some weight do to the longer confinement, but overall seem to weather it well. You need to check and double check all of your paperwork to make sure you have not overlooked anything as this will hold your horses in quarantine longer. Good Luck and enjoy Hawaii. It is really a great state for horses and horse people.

You would most definitely want to start calling around and seeing what kind of options and rates you can find starting with flying and also shipping. One of the biggest obstacles that you may run into may be the vet checks and proper paperwork you will have to have to cross the states . You will need to check this out as so many different states have different animal requirements as far as inoculations and such you must definitely will have to coggins test and a brand inspection no matter where you are going and you will need to check with the situation that you are entering in what other requirements that there may be, Good luck and I would be like you I would most definitely take my horses with me but it may cost quite a pretty penny, good luck and choose the one that allows the best adequate rest and exercise during the trip so that the horses do not have any complications with the trip.. Remember that this can be quit stressful and depending on how good of travelers your horses are in the first place I would choose the travel option that allows the best care. Good luck and congratulations!

I would recomend to have your horse shipped by air. It is much less stressful than shipping by ocean. The horse is loaded into a special stall (about 10'x10') complete with shaving, hay, water... all the comforts of home. Then the stall is loaded, using elevators and conveyer belts, into the plane. The stalls are locked into place, and they set out on their journey. There are watch keepers that are with the horse at all times, you yourself may also be able to acompany your horse on the trip. The flight will be the same as a passenger flight, but the loading and unloading will be more time consuming. Best of luck to you, and thank you for your service to our country! Merry Christmas!

you can have your horses flown to HI for about $5,000 per horse but I dont know how much it is to do it by sea. i would call the shipping company that you might use and ask them.

I believe that UPS sells horse boxes that are something like a horse trailor but made of cardboard, with holes cut in it for air and water.
I'll tell you what though, the overnight rate for a horse is at least $52, a steep price to pay.

Get some really big (and strong) envelopes and a ton of stamps. You'll probably need some help getting them into the Post Office too ... I imagine those suckers are heavy! If you send them 1st class, they'll probably get there in a couple of days.
