I'm going skiing and am worrying about altitude sickness. I heard taking iron pills before will help, and then I heard drinking lots of water before I leave would help? What should I do?

If you have time to see your doctor before traveling, there is a prescription medication that is available to prevent altitude sickness. As others mentioned, stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. A high carbohydrate diet is also supposed to be helpful, but the best thing to do is increase altitude slowly.
