It is all good! Your mucus plug will have a bloody tinge to it. It can come out all at once or in pieces over time. Both are normal. They say that this usually means labor will start in the next couple of days, but that's not always the case. You don't need to alert your dr. until your water breaks or you start having contractions, which, at 40 weeks, shouldn't be too much longer! I lost my mucus plug at 32 weeks. Different activity besides labor can dislodge your plug. What is really crazy is that it can reform in the cervix, so I lost it again at 39 weeks. I still ended up being induced. Best of wishes for an easy delivery!

Yes, you can definately walk that baby right out, but make sure you do this WITH SOMEONE ELSE. A good friend of mine almost gave birth under a tree using this same method. Once you lose your mucus plug, pay attention to whether or not you are damp. It is possible to leak amniotic fluid and this poses infection risks for the baby. If you notice that you are leaking, then call the doctor! Have fun, and what;s the hurry?? :)

You should start feeling some other changes soon. You can loose the plug well before contractions start. No need to call the Dr.

Dont worry, your mucus plug takes time to come out, its basically your cervix thinning out and getting ready for labor. Mine didnt take as long as your becuase my water broke but id call your doctor and tell him that you are in fact losing your mucus plug and your wondering if you should come in for an examination or not.

Blood coming out with the mucus plug is normal, and will happen as the cervix thins.

Mucus plu should come out at once not over 15 hours! Have your OB paged now! And if it is your plug labor can take up to 2 more weeks

i would let them know pretty soon because the mucus plug keeps stuff from entering your uterous but for most women it breaks down in small pieces not one huge big chunk. but you're gonna go into labour soon maybe before you read this lol.

I went to the hospital when my contractions were five minutes apart and lasting a minute.

Call the hospital to see what they think. That's what I did and they had me come in.
