Christian Fundimentalists are white, middle to upperclass (though some poor people of colour are among their ranks). Teachings are verbatim bible based. There is no tolerance for those of other thinking (They will 'pray' that others see their 'truth'), Even Christian singers get the boot when they sing outside that genre.
They believe that they hold the high ground on morality, justice and sex.
Most are pro-death penalty for this reason. These are the same people who are anti-abortion using the opposite argument in favour of keeping or adopting out the child. Fundimentalists sometimes believe that a woman carrying the child of rape or incest should carry the child to term.
Fundimentalits will tell you that their faith is Bible based but many read different versions of the Bible. Some fundimentalists are white supremist extremists. Others are quite tolerant. The one thing that holds them together is the belief that they, more than any others, understand God, his plan and have the 'truth' about faith, morality and redemption

Being a fundamental Christian meaning that I believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, The Trinity, The Virgin birth, hell and heaven, and that the Bible is the infallible word of Almighty God, I am middle class, white, 60, and live in Texas. I hope this helps your research project for sociology class.
Fundamental means that we uphold the same truths of the Bible as mentioned above, but we may differ on other things. Human beings do not all think the same especially Christian human beings.

How can any man belive that they are incorrect? It is human nature to belive you are correct, otherwise, why belive it? Yes, I believe I have a monopoly on truth. But for what reason would I be able to consously say that I disagree with myself? Or even that God told me to do something and I decided to act othewise. For a person to act unlike the Christian you are describing would be an insane person, incapable of thought.

Melissa, this is my own personal view. So take it for what it's worth.
The typical social profile of any religious fundamentalist (Not just that of a Christian) is a combination of Ignorance, brainwashing and hypocrisy, at least!
