They started the show with a horse-drawn covered wagon, then would do theatre-plays presenting aesop's fables, Brothers' Grimm fables, wisdom and humanity theme plays. It was always done like medieval style people travelling from town to town.
Anyone remember the name of that theatre troup or show which appeared once a week for many weeks on TV then?

thanks for trying, but not Monty Python. Monty Python was purerly meant for comedy, The one I'm trying to find was entertaining but more solemn, teaching wisdom and humane morals through play acting stories

I remember this! I believe it was called Story Theatre.

It was fairy tales and legends told in a story tellers style as the actors involved would narrate their own actions in third person
"So then the taylor crossed the bridge, " and would speak dialogue directly. Minimal sets props and costumes, but well performed. Rather a cut down precursor to Jim Henson's wonderful The Storyteller series.

It included such actors as Richard Libertini, Avery Scrieber, Peter Bonerz, Valerie Harper, and Alan Alda. It dates from 1971
