Is it mandatory to declare holiday for municipal elections(INDIA) in case of MNC IT companies? Does IT companies comes under shops and establishment act in INDIA. Where I can get more information on the same.

I am not sure, which state you are from. In Delhi NCR region IT business is exempted from Shops & Establishment Act, 1954, from year 2002. For full list go to:

I am not really aware about the act that you have mentioned, but i am sure that whatever the elections, the MNC or whatever the day must be declared holiday to allow the citizens exercise their right... If it was not a holiday then the voter percentage will go down to a very paltry number...

Eventhough it is mandatory, most of the MNCs/Coroporates permit thier employee for 1-2 permission to cast thier votes.So you can work on it.

So that voters will be able to exercise their right to vote, a holiday should be declared during the election date.
