click on one of the songs u want to delete, then while holding shift, press up or down on the arrow keys to highlight the others... then once highlited, hit delete on ur keyboard and move them to ur recycle bin.

U should be able to drag down and delete everything u want in a simple right click, drag down, delete songs from library, left click, if the tunes are all one after another. I just did it yesterday, in fact.

Click the song you want to delete, then hold down control and click the others. Right click, delete, and confirm.

And in order that which you already know, all presented topics (songs, apps, video clips...) will stay in the presented area of Itunes.
