I had a DVD just do the very same thing to me and I carefully dusted off the DVD and reinstalled it and it worked. Sometimes the laser just does not see the digital recording the first time. This doe not necessarily mean your player is bad. Also just shifting the disk around in the try helps the laser see the recording. Try it and see what happens. Good Luck

Well if you are using Daemon tools or any other type virtual CD-ROM I had the same problem with Dark Messiah might and magic which by the way is a sweet game but I wouldn't buy it way to short for $50.00. Well any way your problem is probably the security lock that will not recognize your virtural drive www.cdmediaworld.com then get YASU it makes the security program think your running out of a real CD-ROM instead of a virtual CD-ROM Or there should be a crack file when you extracted the download just once you install it go back to the file that you extracted every thing to and look for a crack file open it and copy the file then go to the actual file in your computer and paste it it will replace the "start up " file make a short cut and drag that out to your desk top You can get anything for free I support pirating Mojo755@yahoo.com E-Mail me with any questions you can get anything

Hey there,
If you are searching for Need for Speed Most Wanted you can download it for free here: http://bit.ly/1uSF1QD

In this classic racing videogame you will be free to move around the city as you compete against other drivers. Although this title allows you to play by yourself with its single-player mode, you will always have an extra opponent while you drive. The police will try to chase and intercept you at all times, and will add extra adrenaline to the race.
It's a very nice game.

Couple of solutions:
1). Put the disc in the drive.
2). If you're trying to pirate the game, go buy it and put the disc in the drive.
3). If you have a legitimate copy and it's giving you this error, make sure you have the latest patch. Some copy protections get buggered.

Ok if you downloaed it from something called torrents/p2p programs, then you need a no-cd key. If you have the real actaly disc then your an idiot, but still listen. Go get your self nero or alcohol120% and use them to get a virtual drive. Then go to http://gamecopyworld.com/ and search the no-cd. Next after you download the no-cd, copy it to C:\Program Files/need for speed most wanted (IT DEPENDS ON WAT YOU CALLED THE FILE) then play it :P.
